Turning two...well amost!

Emerson went to his girlfriend, Emily's, birthday party on Saturday.  But, I think he thought the party was for him b/c he was front and center during the singing of happy b'day, blew out the candles, stuck his hand in the cake b/f the singing was over and opened her presents.  I was behind the camera so couldn't do much to help, but Emily didn't mind that her beau was helping her out!  Courtland was a trooper in the heat...we just stripped him down to his diaper.  Courtland is pulling up everywhere and gets around great with his centipede (butterfly stroke) crawl.  We are definitely going to have to childproof for #2 b/c he is already a handful, but so happy and sleeping so well!

Neighborhood Crawfish Party

Well it appears we have a Rajin Cajun on our hands.  We went to the neighborhood crawfish party on Saturday night, and we couldn't keep up with Emerson.  He was scarfing down mudbugs faster than we could de-shell them.  He absolutely loved them...hmmmm!  Wonder if that is why his tummy has been upset all day today?  Anyway, Emerson had a great time posted up eating crawfish and watching the bands.  That's my boy!  Courtland, was of course with us...he just chilled in the stroller and people watched!

Me & Grandad

We have so many wonderful things to celebrate from this weekend. Courtland started pulling up, Emerson started sleeping in his "Big Boy" bed (and has done quite remarkably....he even asked to make the move), and Emerson went to his first "Movie in the park" (and did great...sat through the whole thing and loved eating popcorn like his Grandad). But, most importantly, we celebrated a wonderful day with Grandad on Saturday. We had the best time hanging out with him, laughing and just forgetting about his awful disease for a while! What a blessing!!!!!!!!
